Calculus

The AP Calculus course is typically broken down into AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.  The Math Analysis course in Loudoun County also covers the 'A' portion of Calculus.  The Calculus seminar is designed to give a six session introduction 'primer' to some of the core concepts that will be taught in Calculus.

Much of the time spent in the AP Calculus AB course revolves around differentiation (finding the derivative) and integration (calculaing the integral).  Students who finish the Two week Calculus seminar will much better prepared to learn the difficult information in Calculus by gaining this important background knowledge.

The following concepts will be taught in the

Calculus Seminar:

1   The concept of a limit and how to calculate it

 2   Introduction to the derivative

3   Rules on calculating the derivative

    4   Introduction to Integration

 5   Rules on integrating
